Prof. Mihail Konstantinov: You have to have a little political talent when you run a country
Prof. Mikhail Konstantinov described the election campaign as rather modest and overturned. He said that he liked it because otherwise it was noisy and annoying. In his words, in the entire new Bulgarian history, the lowest number of voters was in 2007 at the European elections – under 2 million. He recalled that then it rained torrential rain all day and because of that people did not go to the polls.
“If fewer people go to vote now on 27 October, it will be a big anti-record. And I really appeal to people to vote. /…/ In the last election 2 million and 200 thousand people voted, if we go below 2 million now it will be very bad. I would even be happy if we keep 2 million and 200 thousand”, he appealed.
The mathematician pointed out that the opportunity of a parliament to elect several cabinets is not used. This has happened only once in our recent history, when the 36th National Assembly (NA) elected two governments – of Philip Dimitrov and Lyuben Berov, adding:
“Every time the government falls, who knows why the parliament falls – this is complete nonsense. This shows that our politicians are talentless. You have to have some political talent when you run a country.”
